I'm normally not interested in bugs that are resolved... I tend to focus on the ones NOT resolved...

I would say that this does not only apply to statuses, but also types.

Sorry if I'm missing something. I know there are settings to tell if they should be mandatory or not, but I cannot find a setting to HIDE the fields from the "Report Bug" page.
