Upload of files (other than screenshot or video)
I want to be able to attach other files than screenshots or video's to my ticket (eg Word documents)
Customer support service by UserEcho
But I take it this is for adding relevant project files to a bug report? I think what we could do is add custom file support management per account.
As a general rule, uploading word documents instead of screenshots or videos is a terrible, terrible practice that takes up a lot more time for all parties involved. In Damn Bugs, screenshots and videos open directly on the bug description page in a lightbox, whereas if your testers were to upload word files with screenshots in them, you would have to download them and open them in Word every time, which would eat up an additional 5-10 seconds of your life every time you want to see a screenshot.
I very consciously designed Damn Bugs so that testers COULDN'T do that, and the only reason we are doing it now is because there's so much demand for it, but honestly, I still think it's a terrible idea and I'm unhappy that we are doing it. Personally, if it were my team of testers asking me to upload screenshots inside word files, I would look to change testers, that's how strongly I feel about it.
Of course, I'm only referring to testers who add screenshots inside word documents, I understand that in certain circumstances, text documents have to be shared in relations to bugs, that's a different story.
That being said, to answer your question, we are currently focused on implementing the new design and charts, with an expected delivery within 1 to 2 weeks. This is a major update that will also include a lot of fixes to things that users have requested, including things like the ability to re-order projects on your dashboard, but not the ability to upload other files than image and video files yet.
That would definitely be the very next item on our list however, and it's not a long or complicated fix.

It's definitely annoying to have to download an attachment every time, but sometimes it's unavoidable, and it can be very useful.
All that said, thanks so much for this free application and for listening to your users! I picked Damn Bugs because it's in the sweet spot between too simple and too complex, and I'm sure with all the thinking about features you guys are doing, it will stay there.
