Account registration unprofessional

Why is account registration based on nickname, and can email addresses not be used? I find that rather unprofessional..

Not a bug

This is a personal opinon, some people prefer usernames. You can also use your email to login, it works!

I tried and it didn't work for me back then, that's why I reported it as a bug.
