LEAN TESTING UPDATE

tech 7 years ago updated by bastek8sd 5 years ago 39

6 months ago I posted an update here that Lean Testing was being discontinued.

Many users have reached out to us with kind words, and I'm happy to report that will now resume work on Lean Testing.

An update will follow shortly.

Hi Simon,

That is sad to hear. Leantesting was really great!

I am not able to sign in currently. Can you please help us get to our data?

My email on account is johan@smrtsystems.com

Thanks,

Johan

Hello Simon,  We are terribly sad to hear this news.  We rely on Lean Testing heavily to track our bugs.  We haven't been able to sign in all week and I'd like to be able to extract our data ASAP.   Please contact me as soon as possible - mary.geraci@us.bureauveritas.com.  The billing email on our account should be either  loams@us.bureauveritas.com or loams@analystsinc.com.  Thank you kindly.

Simon, This is a real shame to hear, and must be very difficult to accept as the reality. Is there any possibility you may offer the framework as open-source for organizations to download and implement locally to host their own data in-house, for those who use and rely on it heavily? Have you considered trying a last ditch funding effort by going through Kickstarter or GoFundMe? It may be worth a shot.

Regardless, I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors and thank you for what you created for us.

- A thoroughly satisfied and appreciative admin/user of Lean Testing

Have to echo the other comments about how sad this is. I had only recently discovered Lean Testing and had been singing its praises and had introduced it at work over the last couple of weeks. I was truly impressed with the clear, intuitive user interface and had spent some time transferring bugs over from spreadsheets into your app. Now though, it's not looking worthwhile investing more time on an unsupported product, so I guess I'll be exporting those bugs into something else (probably Freshdesk) next week. Thanks for all your efforts though and best wishes for your future endeavours.

Simon,

Again, sad to hear this. But I have not been able to access leantesting to extract my test cases since you posted this. Could you post an update on whether you're planning on helping us extracting this data, or if this is not possible due to the servers shutting down or something? Maybe you could send us database backups? But if not, please let us know so we can start recreating our test suite in another software manually.

Thanks!

Johan

Hi Simon,

Sorry to hear about the difficulties. It's been great for us and our team and we wish you the best.

As others have stated: I need to extract my test cases. We have several hundred in lean testing. Please let us know how we can go about this. We still get the DNS error when trying to log in. Thanks!

Did he contact anyone?

+1

I don't think so, but I was able to log in on Monday and extract my team's tests.

Shame Lean Testing is closing down,

Has anyone managed to export all their data from their account?

Just exported all my bug reports as a CSV file this morning.

Hi Simon,

first of all, congrats for what you've already achieved with this platform.

Secondly, sad to see you are giving up for the reasons you say.

Can you also contact me via email, I would like to talk to you.

Thanks in advance, regards

Dear Simon,

You have done a great job. Please re-consider one more time about the decision you took. Because this system satisfy our team in every aspects. I won't compare Leantesting with Jira. Both are different in many ways.when we are in rapid development and testing, none of the bug tracker will help us apart from yours. In that case, you are far better than Jira.

I have searched many tools in past weeks, but i felt nothing will replace your system.

If you have any idea to keep the system alive, please let us know...

Dear Simon,

sorry to bother you again.

Have you think of the possibility to change to value of the Pro Feature to at least the double of the year value? Have you think of the possibility to have a middle premium feature that equals the value of the actual Pro value with less features ?

Can you try to make a business plan based on that premises ? I don't know how many Pro clients you have right now, but for me, I was really thinking to go Pro, and I think that your platforms is worth at least the double of the price you ask now.

We've try to make our bugtracker in-house, and I can say for sure, that you have a great plataform.

Hope that this words can put you to think for a while. Regards

Anyone got to speak with Simon? Anyone has some news regarding this post ?

Is this for real?

Thanks so much for your hard work and for listening to your users! Good luck on your future work!

Dear Simon,

I must say I do not understand why the software is not provided for "on premises" install, at a reasonable price : we would buy it !

It is unmatched for UI ergonomics and quality, to our point of view, and it serves exactly our test management needs in all the possible ways, so we want to give you money for just being able to use it as It is, on our own server, don't you want to take it ?

I think I'm not the only one to think this way here, if you provide a package for 1000$, 1 time price (no recurring costs) and we are 10 to buy it, that would bring you 10.000$, isn't it good to take ?

I have some computing skills and can help for building a distributable package..

This is good suggestion. I think our organization will want to pay for it. We rely on lean testing on multiple projects with large of testing group of users involved. It will take us even more time and effort to look for another tool to re-enter in all the test cases for over 20 projects!

Dear Simon, can you at least consider this offer? I'm sure many users from this forum would want to pay for it.

+2

I would be interested in buy a 1k package to keep all my projects running on my own server.

Simon, I hope you can consider this option

Regards

To any user from this Forum,

Has Simone kept in touch with any of you? Is this for real? If so, what is your backup plan? I have more than 20 projects in Lean testing and our organization relies heavily on lean testing. If any of you already started to look for a new tool, can you also share with me?

Simon, is there any way to keep the system up or at least keep a backup of data for our organization for some cost? We'd like to pay.

Please let me know.

Thank you Simon.

This should be made clear on the sign-up page for Lean Testing. It's pretty disappointing to adopt a new platform and then find out in a 4 month old forum post that the service is dead.

Agreed. I have only been using LT for a month or so and had no idea it was end-of-life already. Fortunatley I do not have a lot of projects on it yet.

This. So much this. I signed up for an account 2 weeks ago - LONG after LT was declared dead. I didn't even know this service was dead until I couldn't log in using Bitbucket OAuth, couldn't reset my password, and didn't hear back from support. The admin on my project didn't know it was dead, either. The fact that you're continuing to allow account creation using OAuth is troubling. Now we have to stop our actual production work and deal with porting our tickets to another (hopefully not dead) service.

The LEAST you could do is disable the signup form and communicate that this service is no longer accepting new accounts.

^^ Same here Eli. I started my project two months ago and I didn't know they have gave up the Lean Testing even before I know them. This is is totally unfair not mentioning the message directly on Lean Testing page as an official announcement.

Hi Simon,

I have tried to contact you several times to make you an offer to buy the platform.

I understand your disappointment and frustration that LeanTesting hasn't been as sucessful as you'd hoped, but please don't ignore us.

We are still paying customers, so at a minimum we at least deserve an update from you.

Please get in touch ASAP and let's work out a deal.

Thank you,

Andy

I'm really sad to hear that the site is no longer supported.  Would explain why I haven't been able to reach anyone.  I too wanted to explore some possibilities around funding.  I hope that Simon hasn't completely moved on and might be open to discussion.  So far, I've looked at alternatives and I keep coming back to LT hoping that it's not really gone forever!!

Lean testing will live on. An update will follow shortly. We now have a team and funding.

Very happy to hear! Projects like Lean Testing should live long!!!

Great news! <3

I just started using Lean Testing before I found out it was discontinued. Good to hear that it will be back. This might be just the tool our team needs.

Woohoo!

I picked Lean Testing because it was in the sweet spot between too complicated and too simple. Happy to hear it's going to live on!

I am trying to create a new project and copy a test suite from another project, but it isn't working. Is it no longer supported?

Hello,

We have been trying to add new users to our account and they are not getting the initial validation and login email. Is there anyone that can help with this issue?

Did this actually happen? We're not getting any support response.

I am wondering the same thing....

@tech I am wondering is the Lean Testing still working?
